I R US

People often call me an elitist. They say I believe that I am better than the people around me, that I think the people I associate with are better too. I say Thank you, Elitism is my best trait! I don’t understand the condemnation of the confident. The fear that others show in being great is almost as frightful as the incessant strive for society to be mediocre. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” People say its ok to believe you can be great, but you should exemplify humility. Humility is the quality or condition of being humble, having a modest opinion or estimate of one's own importance. To be humble is having a feeling of insignificance, inferiority, subservience. When did insignificance, inferiority, and subservience become commended traits? Besides isn’t saying someone should illustrate humility an admittance of greatness? Asking someone to be humble of their abilities is condemning them to mediocrity. To conceal their endowment so that others aren’t pressured to elevate themselves, as to preserve the inadequacies coupled with humility. To grasp the notion that the unachievable can be achieved and the impossible can be accomplished is seen as an admirable notion, but when one boasts this ideal as truth he is condemned as an elitist and overconfident. “It is true greatness to have in one, the frailty of a man and the security of a God” Sir Francis Bacon
